Let’s have Kashmir-German friendship hospital’ Srinagar, : Opposing proposed musical concert by German embassy on September 7 in Srinagar, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday said since the musical concert by Zubin Mehta would cost crores, he would suggest to Germany to construct a special hospital in Kashmir instead. “Let’s spend this money on a Kashmir-German friendship hospital,” Mirwaiz told reporters here. “There is no denying the fact that Kashmir is known for its rich culture and heritage. And, we want to promote it. But Kashmir is an active conflict zone which Germany has to understand,” he said. Mirwaiz said Kashmiris are surrounded by hostilities. “International community definitely has a role in Kashmir resolution. We want Germany to help India and Pakistan to de-escalate tension at LoC and to play a positive role in addressing Kashmir issue,” he said. He said conflict is on and people are being killed. “There is no permanent peace. So, musical concerts and killings can’t go hand-in-hand. It was yesterday only a young boy was murdered in Chattabal area. Germany has to understand the ground situation in Kashmir,” he said.
