Let’s recap Obama’s outstanding economic success and the Republican response to it. As you have seen on facebook conservative Republicans refuse to admit Obama’s great success and twist themselves into pretzels in an attempt to explain it away. Well, Mitch McConnell has adopted the same sorry story. First the details. We added 252,000 jobs in December. The labor market expanded by an average of 246,000 jobs per month in 2014, and by an average of 284,000 jobs in the final four months. On Friday, the government also revised upward the jobs growth from November — to 353,000, up from the original 321,000. The United States has seen two quarters of gross domestic product growth unmatched since 2003. The Dow is near a record-high. The median duration of unemployment is about half what it was six years ago. And consumer confidence is at a post-recession high. Oil prices have plummeted to below $50 per barrel, down from around $110 in June. So back to Mitch McConnell, now unfortunately the senate majority leader. How does he excuse Obama’s success? The growth of the US economy and the drop in unemployment is due to “the expectation of a Republican congress.” I promise I am not making this up. Truth is stranger than fiction. Don’t trust me just google it. Honest. Mitch is even more absurd in his excuse than our conservative friends here on facebook. They try mightily to explain it away but even they don’t go this far. No matter the statistics, no matter the proof, they will never accept this president’s successes.
