Leveraging an assignment (research paper) to finally explore a topic Ive been interested in since I hit a brick wall last year: Sabbath and a theology of work. Im suprised that so little theology formally addresses work, given the energy and time it consumes in America. So far my curiosity has been piqued most by the practice of Sabbath in Judaism. But Im also more than a little triggered by this notion of secular sabbath and whether it betrays the original intent and (R)estfulness. This has definitely made for interesting reading from both Christian and Jewish perspectives as I continue to struggle with my own workaholism along the pages. Cant wait to put it all on paper...what a battle that will be.
