Lewis & Clark State Park and NDCA present Art in the Park! On Saturday, July 27 at the Lewis & Clark State Park there will be a Pottery Workshop with Brad Bachmeier at 11am. Explore how humans began to use natural clay for pottery and sculpture purposes. Be inspired by the tools and techniques used by Native American Indians, the first pottery makers in ND, to create your own pinch and coil pottery creations. All are welcome to join us at the amphitheater! Materials provided by NDCA. Then at 4pm, there will be a Pottery and Sculpture Technique presentation. Professor and ceramic artist, Brad Bachmeier will give a lively presentation at the amphitheater about ceramic pottery and sculpture techniques, including a wheel-throwing demonstration. Discover his small and monument scale ceramic projects and artworks that are in permanent collections around the United States, including the White House. Finished works are available for viewing and handling, inspired by both nature and primitive forming and firing techniques used around the globe by many cultures since the beginning of man.
