The Lewis County Commission must appoint a replacement. The County Commission requested recommendations from the Lewis County Democratic Executive Committee. The Democratic Executive Committee recommends the appointment of Lee Anne Hawkins. The Lewis County Commission will consider this recommendation and any other provided to the Commission. An Interim Prosecuting Attorney will be appointed to take office at 12:01 AM, April 1, 2014. (action required) Correspondence 6. Correspondence from the Office of the West Virginia State Auditor Regarding Senate Bill 1005: Senate Bill 1005, approved by the State Legislature, authorizes a salary increase for or county elected officials meeting certain criteria (Senate Bill 1005 has not yet been approved by Governor Tomblin).The West Virginia State Auditor’s Office is required to review the fiscal condition of each county seeking to implement the increase in order to determine if the resources are available to support the increase. The Auditor’s will be scheduling meeting to create a methodology for this review.(information only) 9.
