Libby just returned from Aruba, the most perfect Caribbean destination. Where to begin! The resorts are gorgeous with a couple of all inclusive and some others with inclusive programs. Those who prefer to experience the great dining offered on the island…never fear. The restaurants are within walking distance with loads of choices and Arubadining offers a discounted meal program for a terrific value. There is a low rise hotel district nearer town, Eagle Beach and a high rise district about 15 minutes from downtown, Palm Beach. I stayed at the Occidental Grand and it could not be more perfect. The beaches are perfect and contrary to popular belief, though the winds do blow 365 days of the year, the sand does not pelt you while you are on the beach..the sand is actually pulverized coral so it’s heavy and stays put! I did a tour of the island and downtown…even rode the modern, clean, air conditioned bus into town on my own ($2.00 each way)…and a snorkel / catamaran tour. I ate wonderful food and could not have had a better stay. Everything I thought I knew about Aruba was wrong! I stand corrected. It is a wonderful, safe, English speaking island that everyone should visit at least once. And, plan ahead to avoid high airfare as Delta is our only choice for carrier. Call me today and go make Aruba your destination for 2014. You will not regret it!
