Liberation from Condemnation It occurs to me that there is nothing you could ever do to NOT be Gods beloved child. I urge you to resist the urge to feel like you may be failing God because you are making unwise decisions that are not necessarily in your best interest. For too long now, we have held on to the aged dogma that purports that God is angry with us over personal sins we struggle to overcome. We imagine for ourselves a certain cosmic disapproval and feeling the weight of condemnation, we falter in our way rather than continuing to make forward progress. We are progressive evolutionary beings by design, and it would be pointless for God, in all His portended wrath, to continually wield the gavel of disapproval over us. As an employer and an instructor, I can safely assert that people respond well to patience, favor and encouragement, whereas they tend to wither and regress under the weight of condemnation. It is a sad shame that the religious community has, for so long now, reinforced the notion that we are to fear the cosmic wrath of an angry, tyrannical God when in reality, God is gentle in His loving persuasions toward good. He calls for wisdom so that we have a fighting chance, not to be swept away under a landslide of poor decisions. Still, it is often the case that we have to learn lessons from these deleterious thought-actions before we can overcome them. We are advised in scripture to follow the path of wisdom and righteousness in order to save ourselves needless troubles. Still as humans, we struggle with various shortcomings that war against the greater good to which we aspire. In time we realize that if our struggles are a challenge for us, they are a benefit TO us.
