Library, Tusky Valley Local Schools win at polls NEW PHILADELPHIA With 100 percent of the vote counted, the Tuscarawas County Public Library’s levy was a big hit with voters, winning with 62 percent of the vote. A total of 5,814 voted for the 1-mill levy, while 3,554 voted against. Tusky Valley Local Schools’ operating levy also passed, 52-48 percent. New Philadelphia City Schools’ operating levy lost a close final, falling by just 11 votes, falling 2,355 to 2,366. Dover City Schools’ bond issue was voted down: 45 to 55 percent against. The village of Strasburg’s income tax passed, getting 58 percent of the vote to 42 percent against. The city of Uhrichsville’s income tax: 47 percent to 53 percent against.
