Library and Museum: Wanted: A WWII era Nazi Flag. Every artifact that the Museum owns has been donated by generous Texas Masons and we are grateful for the wonderful items displayed in the Museum. One item on our “wish list” is a Nazi Flag from WWII for the Holocaust Exhibit. This exhibit displays artifacts and stories of one of the lowest times in human history. PGM Duncan Howard, who was instrumental in the development of the exhibit, wanted to convey the fact that Freemasons were among the groups negatively impacted by Nazi brutality. He didn’t want any of us to forget that, if citizens succumbed to apathy and gave away their control of their government as Germany did in the 1930’s, history could be repeated. Having this flag, a symbol of hatred, on the wall in the Holocaust room would give more of a visual impact to the message of the exhibit. If anyone has one of these from the WWII era, or any other military artifact, we would certainly appreciate it. The Library is open for research between 8:30 AM and 4:00PM weekdays. Museum tour times are 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30AM, and 1:00 and 1:30PM. No tours are given between 11:00 and 1:00. For group tours of ten or more, please call ahead at 254-753-7395 or e-mail [email protected].
