Lies will Not Help – A response to Mr. May and COPE By Sithembewena Tsembeyi One important thing that South Africa as a nation has entrenched itself in is a democratic society, these values are entrenched most importantly in the Republics Constitution, chapter two (2) Section 18 and 19 define these under the Bill of Rights. Section 18 states that everyone has the right to freedom of association, thus it further points in section 19 paragraph (b), that everyone has the right to participate in the activities of, or recruit members for a political party. Noting that this constitutional rights has been preserved by the ANC and its membership, to such a point that COPE was within this right formed by previous members of the ANC, Lekota and Shilowa. it can never be right, in-fact it would be bluntered lies from COPE and its leaders to assume importance that are baseless and ill-informed as an electioneering strategy that the ANC operates on threats and a dictatorial organisation of which is untrue and defamatory, Mr. May is a representative (PR Councillor) at the Randfontein Council which in its last council seating deliberates on various issues, including the said report or the billing system, May as a Councillor has his legislative rights as entrenched in the various Legislation governing the sphere of Local Government, part of his responsibility as part of the town governors he has an obligation and responsibility to advance the betterment of Randfontein people, however the so called peacetime hero has turned to be a complianist rather than a leading factor of the Randfontein Municipality, his continued cry baby activities reflect his incapacity to lead society eventually a characteristic of COPE in its entirety, this also indicates intellectual deficiency informed by misdirected policies of his organisation. The forever emptiness of the "coup" Organisation that in its original nature is none democratic and dictatorial in character, will continue to pass the bag, Randfontein like any South African democratic government is a multi-party Council, meaning there is collective leadership who run the municipality, assuming corruption of those who run the municipality is a self-confession from the honorable Councillor. One thing I know as a responsible citizen who is not only a member of the ANC but an active participant as entrenched in my countries constitution to effectively participate in government as a citizen, I know that the Municipality has passed a policy in place as its Commitment to combat and fight Corruption and Fraud, I am currently unaware of any corruption activities by any of the Public representative of Randfontein, thus it is advisable for Mr May to expose these activities if he has knowledge of to the relevant authorities who are openly defined and put in place by our countries constitution, If Mr May is a committed savant of the people and assumes leadership of the community he has a responsibility and obligation to report any corruption that he has knowledge of. COPE has continued to claim its support and defense of the Countries Constitution, it is within this vain that they should walk the talk rather than populist statements, and media mongering failing to substantiate, just for the sake of looking good in the public domain and continue to mislead our society. in the same vain I call upon May and anyone who has information or proof of any corrupt activity within our government sphere to come forth report to the authorities so that our people should be protected and served justly by our government. The ANC has in my understanding forever committed its fight against corruption, it has continued to commit itself in ensuring better services to our people, acknowledging challenges that are continued to be faced by Government profoundly because of more than 350 years of social injustice and economic oppression that has been faced by the majority of our people. Over the past 19 years, since 1994 the ANC led Government has in all its endeavors championed the interest of the majority of South African people, who have in their numbers continued to show their confidence by "directly voting" the ANC into power, the ANC has in that never relied or put its hope on Proportional formula to assume leadership in government, like the one man party in Randfontein. The ANC remain accountable to its community, through its government representative and organisational structure, and does not assume populist character in this regard but remains a formidable and humble servant of the people. The ANC continued to address societal problems and again acknowledges that there is more to be done. The ANC remains a strong organisation that has subscribed itself to society and has forever growing membership, they have been hundreds of disgruntled individuals who have jumped ship after been promised heaven and earth by many organisations that surface from time to time, and we have always welcomed back hundreds of those who were been misled, and have taken a stands not to be an aggrieved organisation but a loving and forgiving organisation, probably the new political incomer Mr. May does not understand the character of this glorious movement of the people, if not he is a political "yoyo" noting that Cope is less than five years as an organisation only about to finish its first term (5yrs) in government, it means if Mr. May was indeed in the political spectrum before such, he has played opportunistic politics or he is ill informed of the dialectical and ideological needs of our society. I am even supervised he (May) speaks as a representative of the Majority of Randfontein as he has forever Regionalised and racialised his arguments in Council. Hasta victoria la siempre Sithembewena Tsembeyi is a member of the ANC in Randfontein and writes in his own capacity as a Resident and Activist in Randfontein:
