Life. Heres some news that I wanted to share... Life is a journey and over the journey we all discover what is important, worth pursuing and what really matters. When I was younger, we lived in government housing (aka the projects) I often found myself envious of my friends because they had homes and rooms of their own. I thought how awesome it would be to have my own room. In our place the living room was also my bedroom. After working 3 and 4 jobs to pay my way through college I was introduced to the mortgage industry. It changed my life. Who knew an at risk kid from the projects would end up writing mortgage loans. As my mortgage career grew opportunities came to speak coach and train. I loved every minute of it. I was able to share the stage with Tony Robbins, be personally mentored at his home by John Maxwell and meet many extraordinary people at my seminars and events. That begin said something has become increasing important to me. The one thing we can not buy, manufacture or retrieve once it is spent...that is time. Time is short. As I began to reflect on time and what really matters, it became clear that traveling, while fun, was taking away from time with Angie. I soon realized that no matter how big the stage I knew I would not look back and say Im happy I left home to travel and speak. I do know that I will look back one day and never regret the time I spend with my wife. As this reality set in I knew it was time for a change. I wanted to get back to what changed my life as a 23 year old kid with a few bucks in his wallet. I have been presented with an opportunity to stay in Nashville as well as further my goals. As of today I signed a contract as the new VP of Lending in TN for Guaranteed Rate. There were several opportunities but after reviewing them, this one stood head and shoulders above the rest. I learned some time ago that prayers are best when we ask God to open or close doors we should go through. I can say doors have been opened wide. I will be able to continue my events and speaking locally while also helping people finance their homes. I will still post the daily difference, share marketing advice and yes post about the Cowboys, crazy socks and pants. I also know that if you do not ask you do not receive, so if you have any friends, family and even Redskins fans :) who need a mortgage I can help them both in Tennessee as well as other states.
