Life Lessons from people in the Bible - why satan is a master - TopicsExpress

Life Lessons from people in the Bible - why satan is a master deceiver? John 12:31 ‘now is the judgement of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.’ Well this message is inspired by a very interesting but thought provoking and relevant email received from a dear child of God this past week. If I ask you to draw a picture of satan or Lucifer as he was called in the beginning, how would you draw him? Horns, tail, pitchfork and black in colour etc. Basically a very heinous character is how you would depict him. Well my friend you are wrong. He is the master deceiver not only because of his works but the manner in which he presents himself as well. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says ‘for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light’. Isaiah 14:12 calls him son of the morning. Satan was once an angel before he was cast down and he was an anointed cherub (Ezekiel 28:14). Many picture satan as someone with horns, pitch fork and tail. Well actually that is not true. Even though he was cast down from heaven by the Lord, satan still retains his physical features. So he actually remains a beautiful creation (Ezekiel 28:17). Because of this only he is able to deceive people so easily going around like an angel of light rather than what we picture the devil to be. So satan himself appears in the form of light and many people think this is true light and are deceived into receiving him. Satan always tries to duplicate or copy the Lord. The Lord dwells in unapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16). When you see the light of the Lord it is for the glory of the name of Jesus and it is characterized by holiness and purity. Further God does not show Himself to us for our own personal glory. It is for His glory and His purpose He appears to us in visions and speaks to us. You discern the deception of satan firstly by the very fact that he promotes sin and actions against God. Satan exalts and promotes pride, immorality and disobedience to the Word of God. Secondly his appearance is followed by bondages and curses upon the life of people. There is no deliverance for the people when it is a deceiving spirit in action. If it is the Holy Spirit at work in a ministry there will always be deliverance from sin, addiction and bondages because 2 Corinthians 3:17 says ‘where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty’. So my friends, be alert always just because it is shown on Christian TV or takes place in a church or is spoken or ministered through a famous pastor does not mean it is from the Lord. It has to be tested against the Word of God. Only when the manifestation or the ministry is in line with the Word of God only then is it from the Lord. The Lord does not do anything outside of His word. He hated sin then and He still hates it today. He never did anything for anyone’s personal glory but His own and He is still the same. So keep your eyes open and be led by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in all situations. God bless you. (Romesh Daniels).
