Life Saving Victoria in partnership with Game Changers Australia and Sport & Recreation Victoria provided a unique leadership development opportunity recently for six female lifesavers from clubs across the state, aged 16 - 18 years, to be involved in a three day Female Youth Leadership Program at Kinglake Ranges Wilderness Camp, 28 - 30 September. The program aimed to develop young females as leaders in the sport and recreation sector, as well as provide participants with a variety of leadership tools and resources to apply at club level. Feedback from participants included: The camp was one of the most amazing experiences. I feel so privileged to have been nominated and chosen to attend the camp. It has provided me with countless skills that I can now bring back into lifesaving and help me step up at my club. Alex Fletcher, 17, Brighton Life Saving Club This program has really opened up my eyes to see how much I can do for not only my club but the community.
