Life has an amazing way of bringing the truth to the surface, to exposing what it isnt working, and to challenging us to take a step back now and again to let things breathe. So often we are afraid to take a step back because we fear that that step back will lead to the end of something. Taking a step-back does just the opposite. It gives relationships, situations and circumstances a minute to breathe without us trying to control the fear of impending doom. We cause doom when we over-control. Stepping back gives us the truth. It allows things to settle and for us to see the bigger picture of our situation. How can we really know what or how to feel about a relationship, situation or circumstance if we cannot see it from a more distant place of clarity? Step back, be patient and let things breathe. We may not always like the reality we see from a distance but it is better to know what is real than to try and control what isnt real in an effort to make it what we want. The more we force things the quicker we lose them. Trust, step back and make good, sound, intelligent, mindful decisions.
