Life is a book, we turn the pages and have no idea at what the next page will bring us. Some pages hold happy moments, others hold moments that will shape who we are. Today was a page I was not ready for. Today I lost a hero. Growing up in the late 80s Heros were all the rage, and I had a real life HERO. Paul Siler was mine. If anyone knows our family, they know it is big and stretched over two nations that we call home. The distance may be great but our family ties run deeper, and there is NOTHING that can compare to a REDDEKOPP party. This family was Blessed to have two Pauls. Big Paul, and little Paul, I am little Paul and will never be able to fill the shoes of Big Paul. He played an important role in my book. I will never forget the way we used to travel for hours to see the Siler CLAN. The older cooler cousins. Always two steps behind, and always being left out, all I ever wanted was to hang out with him. His Karate trophies that stood taller then me, or the magic cards he showed off, still run through my mind. Teaching him how to play road hockey is one of my favorite memories. It helped that he liked playing goalie!! Big Paul had a special place in my heart. He always went his own way in life. He would pop up here and there, and everywhere. His life book is filled with twists, turns, and stories I can only dream of. He was always a constant in my book though. Ami Siler hooked him and locked him down and I wont forget that happy day either. An american wedding in Canada!! We dont understand why the pages of life can be so cruel some days. To lose a character like Big Paul, is unfair. He was a father, brother, son, a husband, cousin, co-worker, uncle, friend, nephew, a CANADIAN, a fighter, a lover, a Marine, a soccer player, a martial artists, but to me .... He was Big Paul, a Hero. Now the page is set to turn again. I dont know what this next page will bring but I do know one thing. I know Big Paul is still in all our hearts and he has played an important part in all our books of life. It is now our job to tell his story, to show the world what an amazing book he wrote and shared with us. This one Goes out to YOU, BIG PAUL. LOVE, LITTLE PAUL.
