Life is about growth. We make mistakes and we learn from them. One door may close only for a new door to open to something much more fulfilling. This is just my opinion built from experience but I believe everything happens for a reason. No matter how bad or good it may seem. Though sometimes we never know why. A lot of people put stock in a new year. A time to change. For resolutions. Well, we dont need a calendar date to change things. We can do that at any moment. Ive made a lot of not so good choices in the past but theyve led me to where I am today. So for that Im grateful. My life today is something I only dreamed of: my art is finally at a place I feel good about (though I am constantly refining and working to grow), I found and married the most amazing woman Ive ever known, my kids are happy healthy extremely loving and caring kids. The friends I have today are real friends that I cherish. I have so much to be thankful for today it blows my mind. All that said its been a very long road filled with heartache, pain and joy. There were times I wanted to give up: a traumatic childhood, living on the streets a horrible drug addict most of my life, the tragic death of my little brother who was my best friend and numerous friends dying all around me, 4 years in prison, etc, etc....I never gave up. If youre going through a rough part of your life just know it will pass. Youre not alone. So many of us have been there and made it out. Just dont give up, take action and never stop moving forward.
