Life is precious appeal. An appeal for Jasper. Precious Jasper - TopicsExpress

Life is precious appeal. An appeal for Jasper. Precious Jasper was captured by us on the 30th August after we received a number of calls about an injured Lurcher in Thurles. After many hours spent trying to catch this clearly terrified boy, we did. What we discovered brought us to tears. This gentle boy had numerous horrific injuries, mainly that of a broken leg, along with gashes, cuts and bruises, he was also clearly very hungry. The injuries appear to have been caused by he been hit by a moving car and then been dragged along behind, the motorist would almost certainly have know what was happening but did not stop or even care. They would have felt the bump as the car hit Jasper, they would have known. Today, Tuesday 2nd September Jasper was given a thorough examination by our vet, having spent the last few days there for assessment and, sadly, heartbreakingly, the leg cannot be saved. Nothing can be done, he cannot keep his leg, he will never again, because of the total indifference by a motorist, walk on four legs. Who knows, if someone had stopped and sought help for jasper, the outcome might have been so different. How he coped with the tremendous pain is beyond us, if not captured and gangrene set in and spread, he would have died. We have called him Jasper because it means the Master of the Treasure or, in some languages, a jewel, and Jasper is a precious treasure because all life is precious. Even more precious soon when he has but three legs and cannot understand why. So, Jasper needs intricate, delicate surgery and he needs it as soon as possible. We have made a promise to Jasper that we will do everything that is humanly possible to restore him to full health and, although his leg must be amputated, and we do not have the money to pay for his operation, we never break a promise. Our wonderful vets at Brittas will do the surgery and are happy to wait for payment while we try to raise the money. Our appeal is not for us, our appeal is for this precious life, a dog named Jasper, a dog whose life has been so far, one of misery, of rejection, of abandonment and pain. Pain inflicted without a thought, pain that must have been intolerable for at least two days, before he was captured. We want to put an end to the pain, to the misery, to the rejection and bring to this precious life a future filled with love and kindness. Jasper needs €750.00. Will you help Jasper, will you donate towards his operation? Please do, for the sake of a gentle dog, who licks the hand that feeds him and is slowly learning to trust. Will you donate? You can donate by the idonate button on this page, you can donate directly to Brittas vets in Thurles or Cashel (please tell them it is for Jasper). You can donate by PAYPAL to [email protected].
