Life is so fragile, and Komlas passing is a grievous reminder of the inevitability of death - for us all. I still cant believe that the first African to anchor a BBC world service programe - World Today is no more with us. It was an honour listening and watching him alongside Owen Bennett-Jones, Lyse Doucet, James Coomarasamy, Julian Marshall and a host of others. Komla was an accomplished and capable presenter, a true character and the new face of BBC world service. He wasnt just a broadcaster, but a great ambassador for Africa. The world will certainly miss his beautiful and infectious smile, wonderfully sonorous voice and inimitable style. Such a loss to the BBC, journalism and the world.
