Life is so humbling. Even before I owned my own companies, I managed people and large financial accounts. Ive always done well managing and leading people so when I built my businesses, it was a natural transition to lead my teams. Ive always felt I had a gift as a leader and I cared very much about the success of my team. It wasnt till I started my direct selling business where I learned I wasnt even close to where I need to be. In the past, people who worked for me had a reason to, they had to or they wouldnt be promoted or in some cases, even get fired. In my direct selling business or even at church, where its voluntary, I have a hard time having people follow. This knowledge has helped me greatly in striving to become a better leader. I seek mentorship and continue to read books on leadership. I will continue to learn, work and continue to change until I become a good leader. Much like this, there are probably areas in your life where you feel you are pretty strong to find out that you arent even close.
