Life..... living.... breathing..... being.... Thats whats on my mind... been a spell since I been on good old Facebook. There is not much happening on the fire front... we are now into the burning cycle... the crews have taken care of several small prescribed fire units.... and now are burning the many piles generated by the logging industry and the suppression activities on our complex this year. Training is coming up... mostly sending folks to Redmond Air Center Regional Training, several to Boise, ID, down to California and perhaps Missoula... have to keep the latest technology info and experience going..... The Regional FMO meeting, Prevention is starting an ambitious program to assist with preventiing youth fire setters and will implement a program that will rely on a tight knit coalition that will include law enforcement, the courts, social services, fire and safety, elder traditional and cultural input, fire management, and health services.... We are also writing the next ten year prevention plan.... Mr Tony Holliday and Albert Charlie will have it up and running by the end of this year.... Dont forget the haunted house and the Firefighters From Hell at the Forestry Tree Warehouse again... come get your pants scared off and ifn you ditch your candy loot.... I call dibs! Close out of our busy fire season. I still want to bring in all our camp crews whom made the entire year and have a potluck or something to celebrate their success and having the most days out by any of our resources... Notable but not the only ones I want to mention are Roger Smith, Darreck Palmer Sr., Louis LeClaire, Anthony Gonzales, Mr Cool N Kinky Aaron Wilson, Juanita Miguel-lopez, and all those who persevered, adapted and overcome the challenges to become the finest group of camp crew folks we have had in recent history! To all our firefighters and support personnel... did one hell of a job and all deserve high accolades for a job done with pride, professionalism and a deep commitment to excellence! My career is on the downside and its time to pass the torch... to give the experience and information I have to the next generation of firefighters that will continue to serve the members of our great Tribes.... pride... honor..... commitment.. not just words but a sense of being here in fire! Gotta say I love it... I live it..... I am this thing called fire!
