Life on earth is so vulnerable and the journey is short. Today you may see me and talk to me but it may not happen for tomorrow. Last year 21st October 2.10am one of my dear sister in law (My husband’s side) passed away and she was saved in the last breath of her life in bed. Alleluia! Now one year has passed In full 1 year from the death of my sister in law now my beloved brother Rodney has gone with the Lord. And now this beautiful funeral service is for him with our tear of joy but heavy heart because even though we know where he has gone to and on the other hand we know we would not see him hear him talk to him physically again. We will be really miss him. Last year one day I boldly ask my mom: Mom, I would like to know how you want your funeral to be when you go back home in heaven? She shared her thoughts, I told mine as well because I do not know who is going to leave 1st. We are not scare to talk about death because we have the confident, hope, faith in our God name Jesus Christ who is the Father in Heaven who has prepared a beautiful mansion in heaven for us. Life and dead is in God’s hand, I believe God has His purpose and plan for us on earth. But we need God to guide us and carry on our life journey through faith by God’s way, His truth and in His life. God said children are the gifts from God to the parents. I believe Rodney is a special and precious gift from God to my parents. I believe his born has brought them great joy because he was the 1st born in the family. He was also a gift from God to us as our playmate, our eldest brother, our guardian and our protector at times. My Brother Rodney He was kind and gentle. He was not easily angered. He was loving and caring. He was patient and forgiving. He was a good listener. He was humorous. His presence always brought us so much joy and fun. He always put on his handsome smile on his face. But now he was gone with the Lord! He is such a wonderful, an understanding and a loving brother to me! But now he left us for a better place called heaven! Today, I’m mourning for my brother Rodney. I have not much tear but still crying privately. I have asked myself how much I treasure him before I lost him? How much I love him before I missed him? How often would I care for him? How close is our relationship on earth?? I have no answer for that. But God spoken to me, ”Daughter, let not your heart be trouble. He was walking together with Jesus Christ on earth. Jesus’ blood has washed away his sins and now he is in heaven with Me. This is most important thing in his life.” I cried out loud when I heard God spoke, I wipe away my tear and thank God for the salvation of his life. I rejoice with Rodney now in heaven joining with the angels singing. I guess now he is looking down saying he is completely well and enjoying the goodness of heaven and live forever. Yes, he lives forever. This is God’s promise to us who believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. I am not important to Rodney but God is most important to him. Because God is the one holding the key of heaven and the hades. I believe the happiest life he live on earth is the moment he received Jesus Christ as his personal savior who is willing to die for his sins and lift his burden. Rodney was walking close enough with Jesus Christ on earth. He has the peace, joy and love of God in him. I know it’s not easy for a person to follow Jesus Christ. But I plead God can open your heart especially to my family members and my relatives and all my friends here. Hear what God has to say to you through the pastor and through the work was done in Rodney’s life by God Himself. Thousands Thanks to those who nurtured him and fed him well with the word of God. To those who made him grown in the Lord. To those who lifted him up when he was down. To those who guide him back to the Lord when he was lost. To those who comfort him when he was in sorrow. To those who give water when he is thirsty. To those who feed him well when he is hungry. To those who watch over him when he is going astray. To those be there for him when he is lonely. To those who clothed him when he is cold. To those who give him shelter when he is homeless. To those who cared for him when he needs attention. To those who loves him when he needs love........... His duty and mission on earth has completed well as a son, as a brother, as a husband, as a father and as a friend to each and everyone of us and to God the Father. He has fulfilled his purpose of life on earth. So now God the Father took him back home and rest in peace. He has started an eternal life that disease free, no sorrow, no pain, no sickness……. He left to us his joy, his fellowship and sweet memories we have gone through together. We enjoyed him so much and we will remember him, miss him and love him forever and ever. Amen.
