Life on the Farm - Continues Christmas Day Some may say that for the denizens here at Blessing Farm it is Christmas every day. However I think they knew it was a special day. At least the ones who had celebrated before. I thought Bluff would nod his head right off his shoulders when I turned on the Christmas music. I feed the donkeys first and when I sat the basket down to empty their stockings into their bowls, their eyes grew as round as their tummies and I swear they started levitating. Next in line is Bluff who expressed his delight by executing a downward dog stretch just as I was reaching his bowl. He is almost 17 hands so the experience was rather startling. Then comes Charm. Dressed in last nights hay and shavings. I was holding the rest of the scoops and I had to firmly explain that only one was for her. Then next was my sweet baboo. He adeptly lifted his dainty leg in his customary manner and dove into his Christmas cheer. (some may say he muttered something about electronics, but the music was too loud, so I can not say for sure.) And then it was Valentines turn. The incredulous expression on her face when I emptied her present into her bowl was priceless. Then off to spread the hay and last nights stall leavings. Then one by one I led them out. And lastly released the Aliens who were still licking their breakfast bowls. Across the way, the baby race horses to be looked longingly over the fence at the Duck Gang. More coffee for me then back to the barn to get it ready for another day. Wishing everyone a beautiful day.
