I still love to be perfectly honest. It isnt something that just vanishes into the ether. Not if it meant something special to you. Not if it was a visceral connection of minds and hearts. When my marriage ended I fell apart and went into therapy for nearly two years because of it. I loved to the point of breaking. I dont think that is something to be ashamed of. I am certainly not ashamed of it. I believe in romanticism and putting your whole self on the line. Fall in love or die trying. In this grand Universe in which we inhabit is there anything more wonderful than the embrace of a loved one, the ability to see the world through a lovers eyes? Yes, there are stars and galaxies, black holes and dark matter, supernova and neutron stars, but it is the human heart that brings awe to life. I am a romantic. Even knowing how things ended off, and knowing all of the pain that I would endure during and afterward, yes, I would do it again. Life should be lived to the point of tears. Lets just learn something from those tears, shall we? I would rather love than let myself be overtaken by apathy or malice. I still love the one that I was with once upon a time. It is just a different kind of love now. It is an appreciation from afar, a hope that she can make her life better, and become healthier. To fall in love is awe. What else are we living for other than to find awe and beauty? Because Beauty, my friends, is Truth, and Truth is Beauty. Or at least the poet in me likes to believe that.
