Life takes courage. On any given day we get up, get dressed, go to - TopicsExpress

Life takes courage. On any given day we get up, get dressed, go to school and/or work and face a degree of uncertainty of how our day may unfold. Each of us do this with a measure of faith and courage. Many people, myself included, have at times sought to disengage from the truth of the realities of life. Some of these realities include: earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes and hurricanes, to the innocent victims of street shootings and school massacres, to violent home invasions, unexpected layoffs and the deaths of loved ones. We may attempt to disassociate ourselves from these and other realities of life, but this doesnt change the fact that life wreaks with uncertainty. Reclaiming your fearlessness requires that you initiate acts of courage on an everyday basis. This is easier to do when you practice the integrity of your spirit which I wrote about here. When you set out to reclaim your fearlessness, you live with a greater sense of vitality, self-awareness, sensitivity and capacity to fully experience life with all its beauty, wonder and terror. When you feel threatened, weak, vulnerable, intimidated or terrified, its these experiences which challenges you to unleash the power from within, so that you respond to them with courage. Courage of heart is necessary to reclaim your fearlessness. Courage is not being free from fear, it is the ability to take purposeful action in the face of fear. I have found that courage springs from within us, often from a place that we were unaware of until we are faced with a daunting circumstance that challenges us to consciously stand up for what we believe to be possible in our lives. For certain, many of our life challenges can often trigger an immediate rush of fear. At which time, the fight, flight, or freeze stress response in our bodies seem to hijack our ability to calm ourselves and see them for what they are. We can learn how to shift our perspective on them and see that they represent opportunities to grow ourselves, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. This is What Fearlessness Feels and Looks Like Reclaiming your fearlessness fuels your inner-strength. As you begin to accept and get in agreement with the fact that there exists a reservoir of courage dwelling within your soul, you will find the strength to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep pressing on through your challenges until you manifest the better that you believe to be possible in your life. When you begin to reclaim your fearlessness, you will persevere rather than quit. You will take responsibility instead of passing the buck. You will embrace the truth of what is while believing that better is possible. You will feel and speak your truth with the intention of love. You will feel that your life has a greater sense of meaning as you contribute in greater ways towards the change you want to see in your life, in the life of those closest to you and in our world. You will move forward in life rather than stagnate or regress. Like the Cowardly Lion in the classic film The Wizard of Oz, too often we fail to recognize the innate courage that we already possess. Like the Cowardly Lion, when we decide to take bold steps towards manifesting what we truly desire to experience in our lives, we begin to reclaim our fearlessness. I wrote about this here. You do not have to be a Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., or Gandhi to embrace courage as a way of living your life. You can recognize and accept the uncertainty that comes with life, and at the same time own your power to live your best life with faith and the courage of heart that you are well able to handle whatever circumstance that you may face. Im cheering you on. You got this!
