Life with the FB messenger... I hate the Facebook messenger. With my laptop in coma, I am forced to use the Android note pad-computer. I had scrupulously avoided when FB kept prompting me -We are moving the messages. Please install Messenger.... Now seizing my disadvantage, in an unfortunate coincidence of events- it has become automatically autocratic-.. no messenger installed, no messages! In prompt retaliation,I have given the feedback as -Dislike app features when asked to rate this hounding horror. How can I let them bully & blackmail me into offering information about location, phone, mail etc. ; when all I want is to message someone? And the worst part is that the whole FB knows not just if I am online but how many minutes or hours ago I went offline. This is classified as Vigilant personality disorder medically! I dont do this vigilance even on my teenage kids & to be under constant scanner at this age & by a faceless Facebook is disconsorting-at least Frakenstein had a connectable imagery. ( Besides, my people get to know how much more I am straining that diseased neck of mine despite medical advice & will hold me more resposible than the disease when it deteriorates! Even if all of us cried hoarse or typed indignant feedbacks till those spondylotic necks fell off, they will not change the policy. At least Ill ask them to change the name of the ever-tracking messenger to- Mother or Spouseor 24×7 virtual GPS or MM-Monitoring monster (give or take another M for mother-in-law) On a serious note, are you all comfortable with the telltale mobile device apps that track & give away your activities. Have you devised ways to escape this radar? Till my lappy gets back from hospital, I shall keep installing & uninstalling messengers-there is no limitation to that. Like they say- Autocracy breeds ingenious behaviour.
