#LifeLessons #LearnTheHardWay #CantGrowWithoutMakingMistakes Had to take a detour while driving last week that initially annoyed me because it took me off course and got me confused and I was short on time. About 2 minutes into this reroute, I tried to stay positive & believe that God is keeping me from something or showing me something and I wont get it right away but as always, I will know later why. In many situations of detours or delays in my life, I have been protected from accidents, a bank robbery (YES Im serious), serious traffic delays, run ins with folks I dont need in my spiritual space etc..., and even in some situations my inconveniences have been great blessings to others.... and on this detour day, I thought this could be the same. But by the end of the detour, nothing... Nothing at all... Just a long detour that really took me off course and made me late ... Or so I assumed. Almost a week later, I just found out I have a deadline this week that put my Tuesday to a halt and a headache. I need to do a big location scout for a project Im producing & in order to film in DC, I gotta convince the other execs there are great locations in DC that fits the budget and script!!! I couldnt even think of where to start looking. Then bam! It came to me! In that detour, oppose to following the signs they gave because all I saw were break lights for a mile or so, I attempted to go a different route to still make time and all I did was end up on a street that was closed. It set me back more time and put me into more traffic. After I realized this shortcut was useless, I used navigation that took me around the long way through residential streets. I was perturbed I was going to be late and I loathe traffic lights every block lol... Well, to my surprise, it took me through a gorgeous neighborhood I never knew existed in DC. Actually came across a whole community that was amazing. At the time, it was just a pretty area I passed through but today, its an area that I have now decided to research & explore more that may just possibly work out in my favor! Just goes to prove something... A lesson IS in everything for sure and in this long winded story.... This is mine for you all... ***In careers, love, friendships, family, money, nourishment, health, getting in shape or working out or just LIFE overall in every aspect....Remember.... Many shortcuts in life lead to ugly dead ends & youre not guaranteed to get to where youre going, where as many detours can give you a better view and scenic route that you 100% know for sure will get you to where you need to be. Maybe not on time & maybe not how you planned or wanted but definitely will get you there. Dont always be so quick to rush Into things or speed to get to where youre trying to go. Youll miss some of the best things you never knew you needed or expected along the way by rushing and sometimes, you may just not get there at all. - #DLaw
