Light: The beauty about studying light is that it can take you through time, billions of years into the past, it can even take you [in detail] back to the beginning of time itself. Most probably half the stars visible to the naked eye at night Nolonger exist, they died millions of years ago, the reason we can see them now is because they are/were hundreds of millions of light-years [1 light-year = 9.9 trillion km (the distance it takes light to travel in a year)] away from earth, the light visible now is very old, it took a lot of years for it to get here, unlike the light from our star the Sun which only takes 8 minutes to reach us.
