Light and Lite options Do you believe when you choice a light or lite option of a food you are actually eating healthier? Well you’re not alone, with many people thinking these are an actual healthier option which in fact is not always the case. Light and lite foods can taste bland and manufacturers normally compensate by adding more of other unhealthy ingredients such as sugar and salt which can bring the foods calories back up to the level of the normal version of the food. What I suggest is to read the food labels on your products especially looking at: Total fats – 3g of fats or less per 100g Saturated fats – 1.5g or less per 100g Sugars – 5g or less per 100g Salt – 0.3g or less per 100g
