Light snow showers and wind chill values as low as -4 could make for a slick afternoon commute. Novis Public Services snow crews have been dispatched to salt all major roadways. Motorists should be advised that concrete pavement and bridge decks are likely to become snow covered or icy before asphalt surfaces and extra caution should be used in these areas. It is important to remember that roadway temperatures could be lower than that ambient air temperature in some areas due to the extremely cold nights and this further reduces the effectiveness of salt and makes the chance of refreeze greater.
