Lightning Bug Update*****She is in eye surgery as we speak. Unfortunately her left eye had already detached the retina & we were too late to save it. We are removing altogether. Fingers crossed the rt eye is ok & she will have 80%+ chance of good vision w/ no glaucoma! I will post updates as I can. We will be quite busy as she will wear the GIANT cone of silence for 1 month, have approx. 4-6meds x day @ all hours & have many, many, many follow-up visits to the eye doc. Mark has the playpen set up in the living room, I have her bed in the dryer. We have her harness & are just waiting for the call to go get her. Hopefully she will be able to see us! She had her dental 2 weeks ago. She only had 7 brown rotting teeth left & they were all removed. The pressure in her left eye & infection was being caused by the packed hair under her molars from chewing the fleas off of herself. Doc said it was the worst hes ever seen, almost 1/2 inch packed! Her labs were terrific & hopefully with her teeth & eyes done she can enjoy a pain free (well, she must remain on Cosequin & Novox for the entire body arthritis. She sounds like Rice Krispys!) and happy the rest of her furry life!!
