Like Americans, the Haitian people love their soccer. Every year the village of La coupe holds a festival and invites other teams to come and play. The La coupe team works all day to prepare the field. This year they were able to play with matching jerseys and decent cleats thanks to the Nordic Spirit Club in Vermont. La coupe won the game 3 to 2. A big thank you to our friend and Director of Coaching for Nordic, Jim Gaudie - he rallied his older players and came up with cleats as well as donated both home and away jerseys. Hard to capture in this post how thrilled the La coupe players were to have real uniforms - not something they readily have available to them but they very much appreciated. These small donations helped give a real sense of pride for these young athletes
