Like I promised earlier this year, I would create a website that would make ride sharing as fun, easy, and user friendly as possible. I understand that crawling through the endless posts here in the group may not be the most simplistic method for finding what you need; with the Poly Ride Share website, users can create an account (linked to Google, twitter, or facebook),and anytime thereafter have the option to easily add travels to the location and/or find rides. Additionally, if a user offers a ride, he or she has the ability to send status updates to all others who booked a spot in the car pool. While this is merely an extension of this Facebook group setting, I firmly believe that with the growing user base at Cal Poly, we must port over to a website. By using a website, it not only enables the option of using an iOS or Android app to create/find rides, but users can also have a versatile set of tools to manage payments. Currently, the website is under construction. I expect to have it done by the end of the quarter (at the latest), so I will keep you posted! Here is a photo of the homepage. Any suggestions? Post here. Go Mustangs!
