Like Minded. When I hear like minded it sends up red flags for me. I see more and more fellow atheists (and I use that term loosely) putting the phrase like minded into atheism. Atheism isnt being like minded, its rejecting religious beliefs and their claims of gods until they are proven beyond a belief and can be presented as fact with supporting evidence. Its having an open mind and using whats available from simple common sense. Like minded is a religious mentality where everyone thinks the same because of the religious belief they share. The Nazis were like minded, the Klu Klux Klan are like minded, Cults are like minded. Id like to believe that as atheists we have risen about being Like Minded and have acheived free thinking and rationality. But sadly the new Facebook breed of Atheism has lost its way due to the need for having Followers and impose a like minded mentality into it for their own needs for page likes and building fan bases. Yes Im a very unpopular Atheist on Facebook, because Im not like minded, and dont want to think with the same framework that religions use that these atheists have adopted. They preach anger and promote it as needing to be like minded to be an atheist, and in many ways I see them as being just as ignorant in their belief as the ignorance needed to have religious beliefs and never question the lack of evidence to support the belief. Do not invite me to go like your page you may have. Im quite good at knowing what atheism is all by myself and am able to say what I want when I want the way I want on my own personal wall If the mood suits me because Im a free thinker, and not like minded. This is to clear the air starting this new year for those that may have forgot what Im about or only recently came across me on here, and I like people to know what to expect from me in my attitude and behavior.
