Job Description : Designation :Consultant Paediatrician/Associate Medical Director Experience: Work Experience 8+ years of overall clinical experience, post internship or 3 to 5+ years of clinical experience after PG degree or diploma. Minimum Educational Qualification MBBS; MD Paediatrics Role Paediatrician in a well-equipped urban primary healthcare setup . Salary : As per industry standard and will not be a constraint for deserving candidates. Location : Bangalore. Educational Qualifications Essential : MBBS and registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or with any respective state medical councils within India. Post Graduate/Fellow in clinical Paediatrics. Desirable: MD/ DCH/ DNB / MRCGPH (UK or US) with CCST in Paediatrics. Clinical Fellow in General Paediatrics. Clinical Experience :Essential : 8+ years of active clinical practice post MBBS Supervision of General paediatrics Research/administration/protocol development Desirable : 3 to 5 years after post-graduate degree or diploma. Earlier experience of working as a HOD/Partner with an established healthcare practice, such as clinics, hospitals, general practice, nursing home, etc. Skill sets:- Essential : Firm belief in, and the will to practice as per the founding values of NationWide Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Teaching skills Basic computing skills. Desirable : Knowledge of local language. Familiarity with primary care clinical systems Responsibilities Clinical and Academic : To provide high quality personal medical services in the context of paediatric general practice to the patients registered with a predefined general practice set-up called as a practice unit henceforth. As part of the medical team, will actively participate in responding to medical/health problems presented by patients on the registered list including registration, follow-up visits, investigations, treatment and referral as appropriate. To provide on call and other services in the practice unit as appropriate. To participate in the periodical review the medical records of all registered patients and evaluate the respective management plans. To provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care activities for local communities and registered patients. To actively develop a continuing medical education (CME) initiative for NationWide for all the members of the paediatric team. Clinical Leadership To provide paediatric medical leadership as appropriate to practice requirements. To identify and utilise appropriately, best practices through benchmarking and clinical guidelines. To undertake appropriate clinical risk assessments and implement management strategies for risk identified. To be actively involved and engaged in practice and wider team meetings and forum to promote communication and development. To identify ways to promote opportunities for patient involvement in service development and evaluation Managerial Overall leadership and management of a practice unit. The unit will have other paediatric general practitioners and auxiliary medical staff as team members. Will act as business head of the practice unit and will be accountable for the overall revenue, profit and loss of the unit. Will define, implement and ensure quality outcomes in accordance with a practice plan for all patients registered with the practice unit. Will undertake the periodic performance appraisal of all team members, including the medical team members in the practice unit and take remedial actions in case of any gaps To carry out appropriate administrative and other duties, in line with the needs of the day-to-day functioning of the practice unit including maintenance of electronic medical records, managing registers, etc. Will provide inputs in the clinical rotas for the paediatric medical members of the practice unit Supervise and train the Registrars, and Physician Assistants Clinical Governance/Research and Audit To work collaboratively with the members of the practice unit to ensure that effective clinical governance is incorporated in the day to day practice in the Medical Practice. To undertake appropriate audits in the practice unit to identify clinical quality issues and markers and define processes to improve clinical outcomes and ensure that the unit delivers high quality healthcare To take part in appropriate R&D and audit processes within the practice as agreed in line with primary care division priorities. To develop and implement as appropriate guidelines, policies and procedures as required To utilise latest available evidence to shape and organise services to reflect needs of practice population. To share and disseminate acquired knowledge with all practice team members through in-practice developmental sessions and clinical governance meetings or critical incident reviews.
