Like a drop of indigo dropped into a pot of milk, the ISIS brand - TopicsExpress

Like a drop of indigo dropped into a pot of milk, the ISIS brand of Islam is spreading fast and wide into the world. Although many of my friends are Muslims and I respect them but I have to put a foot down to say that the atrocities of the ISIS forces me to stand up to speak up against them and their leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdad. I has been one and a half millennium since the days of the Prophet (PBUM) but his Hadiths has been taken and interpreted and misinterpreted over and over again to suit the fancy of the one at the minbar ( a place of preaching in the mosque). When text is taken out of context, it can become and abomination. Sadly this is not only limited to Muslim preachers but of other religions as well. What is even worse when you use the writen word of a religion and mix in your personally grudges into the soup, you will create an army of followers that are blood thirsty and bent on the eradication of another race or religion. It is obvious that the ISIS on their current rampage are just settling old scores. It has little to do with what is their true believe of their religion. Although it might be true of the followers whom are driven to this frenzy through indoctrination and brain washing. Its just the the follow the leader syndrome plus the elation from the knowledge that you have the power to snuff out human lives in the power of your hand plus the promised rewards in the afterlife. Remembering that in the middle east, many live a peasant life and the prospect of living like a king in heaven is a very inviting one. When these two are put together, you have a very potent brew. And on a final note, the situation is a breeding ground for such varmints as well. The political leaders here have realized the effectiveness of mixing politics and religion here too and have mixed the both together to instill racial and religious friction. Although that it is very one sided but still it is not healthy at all. So how far have we gone. If you ask me, pretty far. On a smaller scale, we are destroying other peoples houses of worship. Two in recent time. One Chinese and one Indian. We have the promise of blood shed over the bible issue and the name of God. If you Malaysians, Muslims and non Muslims alike, wishes to remain living in a country that is safe and free from violence, it is time to stand up for what is right and chop off the head of the serpent NOW> Incidentally, I hope that that is the only head chopping that will happen here.
