At the age of 56 he sequestered himself in his London Home and in just 23 days, composed the 226 page Oratorio, The Messiah, which puts brilliant music to the biblical texts heralding the Life of Jesus Christ. Without a doubt, The Messiah is an outstanding, genius auditory Masterpiece, but even more, in in showcasing it, the concert raised enough money to free 145 debtors from prison, it raised money for the poor, provided homes for abandoned infants and children and fed the hungry and the poor. Indeed, when we sing and listen to Messiah, our hearts resound with PEACE ON EARTH, but moreover, we know that its words and wonderful works have been put into practice.
