Like and share this story of a man who, because of his public stand against racist treatment while serving our country, was denied a Medal of Honor for valor in WWI. Johnson killed four Germans, wounded an estimated 10 to 20, and prevented the enemy from breaking through the French line. Johnson, who stood just 5 feet 4 and weighed 130 pounds, was nicknamed Black Death for his ferocity. For their actions, Johnson and Roberts become the first American privates to receive the Croix du Guerre, Frances highest military honor. Johnsons medal included the Gold Palm for extraordinary valor. The passage of the Defense Authorization Bill removed the time limit for awarding the Medal of Honor which President Obama is now expected to sign for this great American Hero.
