Like any team, Youngsville has its strong players. What is amazing, and this is why I love baseball, is that no one player wins a game. It is truly a TEAM effort. Yes, Caleb was amazing at first base and missed nothing. Yes, Calan was incredible at short stop. Gavin at second base is unbeatable (even after crashing into a Bunn player and being knocked senseless for a few minutes). Brandon at pitcher is not someone you would want to have to go through to get to home plate. Hunter at third got some game-saving outs. Rett at pitcher making stops and great throws to 1st. Joey and Cam in right field with amazing catches and throw-ins. Chris at right center and Jake at left center chasing down those balls that got to the fence and getting them in to hold the runners at first. Ethan and Conner in left field both did an incredible job. Our outfield did a great job of backing up out incredible infield. The amazing thing about baseball is that no one player can win the game by himself no matter how good he is. This was TRULY a team effort and I am proud of all the boys and their coaches and how they played and supported one another as a TEAM!! Well done Youngsville!! Thank you Lord for protecting our boys and for giving them the strength to persevere through a LONG tournament!
