Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land. Proverbs 25:25 Im pretty sure Ive quoted this scripture before, but I need to do it again. It is appropriate. And it is truth. On Tuesday we spent most of the day at the infusion clinic at Childrens in Plano for Anthony to receive another dose of Cytogam to treat his CMV. And yesterday we received the result of the CMV level they drew before his infusion began. The result: “Not Detected.” Not Detected! The best news we could have received! After nearly a month of chasing those levels as they rose and fell only to rise again, this news comes as such a relief. And for his levels to be undetectable before the infusion...well...its just icing on the cake. Maybe now I will finally stop wondering when that other shoe is going to drop. Maybe. But thats not all. There was more good news... Anthonys liver enzyme levels, which were so very high a week ago due to the antibiotic he had been taking, are dropping. They are still higher than they have ever been, but after only a week off the medicine we are seeing a positive change, giving us hope that they eventually will return to normal. As always, Anthony will continue to be watched closely, and he will take Valcyte for a few more months to make sure CMV doesnt return. But, unless something changes, our lives should begin to return to our “pre-CMV” normal. Good news. No, excellent news.
