Well, for the price of one onion you can have fresh green onions growing right your own kitchen for months! Just take one onion and put it, root side down, in a jar of water. Thats it! The greens will start to grow out of the top of the onion and then you can cut off as much as you need, whenever you need it. Keep the jar full of water and the onion greens will keep growing for a few months. When the onion gets worn out and it quits, just compost it and start another.
