Like many across the country, I am angered and deeply disturbed by the Ferguson grand jurys decision, but sadly not at all surprised. Travesties like this will continue to happen if we dont VOTE. It is only by exercising our right to vote, especially in the off-year local elections, that we can get folks like Prosecutor McCulloch out of office and replace them with people who actually care about justice. Strange, isnt it, that those who won this past election day are the very people who are totally against the things that most of us want. Like a fair minimum wage, affordable health care, student loan relief, etc. And yet, only a third of registered voters actually voted. People have to realize that because of all this, our nation is no longer a democracy. Look at the overwhelming corporate control of the governments decision making. Look at the increased militarization of law enforcement across the country. Look at the Black and Brown men AND women who are being senselessly brutalized and murdered by the police. Our sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and neighbors. This is a tragically vicious cycle that will not end unless we take immediate action against injustice and all those who seek to perpetuate it. VOTE. -- E.D.
