Like many others have mentioned, I donate my unneeded items to charity stores or other causes throughout the year so I did not have much to donate today. So when I went to the grocery store today, I purchased several items to donate to the food bank and I remembered that I had a few other items at home that I wanted to donate. The store had sunflower bouquets on sale for a very reasonable price. The sunflowers were big and bright and so cheerful looking. I bought 3 bunches. I thought about what to do with these beauties. My first thought was to drop off one bunch at the library for the wonderful librarians and the patrons could all enjoy them. But then I remembered that it is Columbus Day and the library is closed. So I decided to attach a quote to each sunflower and give them to the food bank to hand out to individuals as they came in to pick up food or other items. The quote I chose was: Be like a sunflower; so that even on the darkest days, you can stand tall and find the sunlight. I hope they added cheer and hope to someones day.
