Like my scooters, I do my campaigning myself. Im running for Secretary this year. I have been riding Lambrettas since 1980, and have owned a number of different ones. My current interest is around the unusual. I also build my own, and ride them long distances. The building started as necessity as too underpaid to pay someone else to build for me, now it s a matter of pride. The long distances started because it seemed like a good idea at the time, and continues to do so. I was the first president working with the first board to grow the club from the first 36 members and getting us internationally recognised as the official Australian club in record time, which brings benefits such as being able to attend Euro Lambretta. As an ex President I also donated a trophy to the LCoA that is given out annually, and I continue to fund that trophy every year. So far the only past, or current, board member to have done that. After haven been President, I then served as state rep for NSW. I am the outgoing Vice-President and have served as Secretary before. This job is one of the most tasking of the board and I believe I bring a unique experience to that position. Whilst the President, with the board, sets the tone of the year, the Secretary makes sure that all the cogs continue to turn smoothly and the club runs successfully within its rules as well as being one of the primary contact points for members. Over the last 2 years as secretary and VP, I have successfully worked with club members and the board to help bring the Mille out as an official LCoA event. I am one of the organisers of the event, bringing my experience of European events to the mix. Over the last 6 years I have organised rides, and tech sessions in NSW, and will continue to do so. Id like to see some interstate events once a year, as just about each state (Sorry WA) is able to ride for a day and meet another. Im well known nationally, and internationally. Partly because of the long rides I tend to do, during which I raise money for Charity. These events get into the press and help to raise the profile of Lambretta as a marque nationally. For the 70th anniversary of Lambretta, I will be trying to organise a Team Australia for EuroLambretta 2017, in Milan, and the Milano-Taranto 2017. again, bringing my network of international contacts to help club members. My goal for the year is to support the new board, who are mostly new. Guide them by bringing the depth of experience, and knowledge of the rules, I have in the LCoA. I have no new agenda, other than that at 2017. Above all, I wish the club to continue to be successful and grow. If I am not selected as Secretary, I will continue to work with the board in any way they wish.
