Like the creator of this page, I love taking a stroll down Memory Lane, and remembering the nostalgia of my once great city. Like many of you who no longer live there, I find it heart wrenching when I return, and drive through the city, and witness the urban blight that has destroyed our home. I have often pondered what can be done to restore Gary to its once great infamy. I just had an epiphany. What it we could plan an annual Return to Greatness weekend there. Where EVERYONE would return on a particular weekend. One day could be spent, cleaning up your neighborhood. One day could be a sort of fitness fair, with vendors, workshops, entertainment, etc. It would be a shot in the arm for the community, the economy, the sense of pride to the city. Im just brain storming, but its an idea. What say you?
