Like the election four years ago, my opponent is launching another personal attack against my family. I’m used to it by now, so I take these attacks in stride. I ask our supporters to be patient with the opposition… never throw back the insults and personal attacks. Just smile… and pray. But I do want to answer his false accusations, because you deserve to know the truth. He asked me at the Guam Medical Association debate whether I ever gave tax write offs to my family. I answered at the debate what I’ll answer again: The answer is NO. I never gave a tax write off to anyone in my family. I welcome an independent audit by your elected Public Auditor into the Department of Revenue and Taxation to prove this. I have nothing to hide from you, my dear people. I serve you openly and transparently. While we’re at this audit, it is also in the public’s interest to answer a question that has been around since my opponent left office. I’d like my opponent to agree to an audit of his finances and tax records. This should answer questions like, “How did he acquire the property in Urunao and how did he pay for construction of that ranch and the laying of utilities to it?” We also deserve to know how much taxpayers paid him in monthly stipends to live in his house in Agana Heights while he was the governor. We should look at travel expenses, government credit card usage, and even the work done on the wall up San Ramon Hill… the one with the cement blocks that look exactly like the ones used around his private residence. These are long-standing audit questions that have never been answered by my opponent. I hope he agrees to open his finances while he was governor the same way he has challenged me. I accept his challenge because I have nothing to hide. Thank you and God bless. youtu.be/BcO4NbSVRoo?list=UU3hruNAobypwR04-I7KQRQw
