Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought. (Romans 8:26) Holy Spirit, thank You for Your help when I felt weak and didn’t know how to pray. You gave me hopefulness when I recognized my helplessness. You have taught me that it is precisely at this point that You can begin Your work. Only when I acknowledge that I cannot help myself do You come alongside to help me. You take up where I give up. My limitation is my best qualification. Thank You for taking my feeble, faltering petitions and articulating them to express my deepest needs and Your greatest hopes for me. You get to the depth of me and sound what’s best to the heights of heaven. You know the Father’s will for me and have assumed responsibility for helping me pray for those things that are within His plan for me, the people I intercede for, and the problems and concerns on my mind. You supply the wisdom and faith to pray creatively and boldly. You are my Counselor. I praise You for the way You are at work in me right now. I sense Your inspiration. My limit is Your opportunity. Now in the silence of this moment, speak to me through my thinking brain. I’m listening. Then loose my tongue to ask for what You have prompted me to ask. Thank You for helping me in my weakness. Amen!
