Lilitu answered 5 years ago There are no exact numbers, because nobody knows just how many people were put into slavery in africa itself. We do not even know how many africans arived in america, maybe 10 to 12 millions. Somewhat between 15 and 20 per cent of all people died on the ships (at least if conditions were good and the ship did not sink). Also a high percentage of people died on their way to the coast (in africa). In addition africans were also sold to the muslim world. There is to my knowledge even less known about numbers. Also in africa itself slavery has somewhat of a history - equally to the roman world.
