Lilly update. I caught her yesterday. Took her to my Vet - TopicsExpress

Lilly update. I caught her yesterday. Took her to my Vet immediately so she could be out on a path to wellness. From the examination it was clear she was a much sicker kitten than it appeared. We had to make the decision to have her put to sleep. She had multiple bite and attack marks that were just not visible and she was so anemic. The infection was into the bone and had eaten her right back leg bone away. She could not fight for her life on her own and would need blood transfusions, amputation and quarantine for about 6 months in case of rabies. It was about the hardest decision I have had to make but luckily Bud was in the area and could meet me there. Ultimately he is the one who signed the papers. I am grateful he was there. I thought it was excruciatingly hard to have a pet put to sleep. And it is. But having to do it to a furbaby that was completely abandoned hurt more. She was never shown love until I found her and it was only the last couple of days that she would let me pet her. She did not deserve this ending. No living creature does, human or otherwise. Please spay or neuter all of your pets. Even if they never go outside. There is always a chance they can slip out without you knowing. RIP Lilly. You have found love at the Rainbow Bridge
