Lily Dale and Beyond The Pilgrimage Day 2 Lily Dale: The Heart of Spiritualism Where to start? Lily Dale is an amazing and beautiful place. So very picturesque with lovely old architecture, some are cottages and others are the old tall, fairly slender buildings with wood siding and trim, porches, all painted in a variety of colours. Beautiful gardens everywhere, lots of hostas, roses, day lilies and a huge variety of other flowering plants. Minister Janet Nohavec of the Journey Within Church graciously gave us the key to her house so we had a place to store our daypacks and change our clothes, which was so appreciated. There is a full schedule here too between the Healing Temple and services and demonstrations. Today although it’s been sunny, it’s somewhat wet so the demonstrations were held in the Assembly Hall – they would normally be held at the Stump or at the Forest Temple, which are both outdoors. To assist those who had difficulty walking, Brian secured the use of a golf cart, which he used for the two days that we were visiting. He managed not to terrify the local cats! In this truly historic and beautiful place many of the great orators and mediums of the past have graced the platforms and the Inspiration Stump. There are two sessions available each day for mediumship and those who are registered at Lily Dale are required to serve often. The Healing Temple is so peaceful, you feel like you are in another world there. The windows are all stained glass in beautiful colours. Our Sanctuary healers were graciously given the opportunity to work in the Temple by the wonderful Barbara Sanson and her team. We had a late dinner at a restaurant on the way back to the hotel and then off to bed, already excited for the next day in the Heart of Spiritualism!
