Limerick’s Intermediate Team Kick Start their TESCO Homegrown Ladies National Football League Campaign with a Home Game against Louth. This Sunday, 2 February sees the Limerick Ladies Intermediate team begin their campaign to claim an elusive National League Title when they host Louth at 2 pm (Venue to be confirmed). This is a team in transition who can look to the experience of Captain Olivia Giltenane, Yvette Moynihan and Alva Neary amongst others to nurture and support the potential and enthusiasm of a raft of girls coming through the successful development system in Limerick. This clichéd mixture of youth and experience is blending nicely and are cautiously confident of being involved at the business end of the league. The game versus Louth promises to be a ding ding battle as there has only been a point between these two teams when they have met in the league over the past three meetings. Last year the conditions were very similar to what we are experiencing this week and a youthful team dug out a result with the last play of the game. Hopefully the result will be less in doubt for the Treaty girls on Sunday. The other Teams in Limerick’s Division are: Roscommon, Wicklow, Antrim and Derry. Limerick’s Panel for Sunday: Olivia Giltenane (Captain) (Mungret/St Paul’s), Martina Giltenane (Mungret/St Paul’s), Yvette Moynihan (Mungret/St Paul’s), Marie Curtin (Mungret/St Paul’s), Rosie Giltenane (Mungret/St Paul’s), Siobhan Moloney (Oola), Gemma O’Dwyer (Oola), Mai Kennelly (Old Mill), Alva Neary (Old Mill), Janet Garvey (Fr Casey’s), Lisa Hartnett (Fr Casey’s), Caroline Hickey (St Ailbe’s), Emma McGuire (St Ailbe’s), Stephanie Carroll (St Ailbe’s), Aoife Meaney (Sliabh na mBan), Niamh McCarthy (Drom/Broadford), Donna Mulcahy (Drom/Broadford), Sarah Shanahan (Drom Broadford), Megan Kelliher (Knockainey), Clodagh Kirby (Knockainey), Niamh Richardson (Monaleen), Megan O’Meara (Monaleen), Michelle Norris (Monaleen), Kathryn Fahy (Monaleen), Kate Fitzgerald (Gerald Griffins), Margaret Ryan (St Brigid’s), Orlaith O’Donoghue (St Brigid’s), Megan O’Shea (St Brigid’s), Grainne Kennedy (St Brigid’s), Louise Ryan (St Brigid’s), Maeve Higgins (St Patricks), Claire O’Riordan (Monagea), Kristina Hennessy (Monagea), Triona O’Donnell (Ballylanders) and Kate McSweeney (Adare).
